Welcome to the Mumuland Kennels website! The home of Mumuland Boston Terriers, Whippets and Smooth Haired Dachshunds (both standard and miniature). We are five star local authority licensed breeders of Boston Terriers, Whippets and both Standard and Miniature Smooth Haired Dachshunds. We were also Kennel Club Assured breeders up until the scheme ended in January 2025. We are located in a small village in the beautiful South Lincolnshire Wolds on the outskirts of Boston between Boston, Sleaford and Spalding. We live In a Victorian farmhouse, originally built in the early 1800's, which we are slowly but surely lovingly and sympatheticaly renovating. Which then became one of several of the villages former public houses from the mid 1800's and was owned by the Batemans Brewery from the late 1800's until the early 1980's when it was de-lienced and sold by the brewery and became a free house pub until it's closure sometime in the 1990's. In it's early years it would of not only served the village locals but also the crew and passengers of the early Packet Boats on their jouneys along South Forty Foot Drain and the Black Sluce Navigation system from Boston to Lincoln and Boston to Bourne and vice versa in days gone by.
We strive to produce happy healthy dogs that conform to breed standards set by the Kennel Club for the Boston Terrier, Standard & Miniature Smooth Hair Dachshunds and the Whippet. We hope you enjoy looking at our website, reading about our dogs and get an understanding about our passion for our chosen breeds.
Ironically our dogs are not kept in actual dog kennels, as all of our dogs live in the house as part of our family. But as we own and breed three different breeds the word 'Kennels' serves as the most appropriate term for the home that we share with our dogs. In additon to having their own quarters in our house, where most of the dogs sleep at night (although we confess some of them do actaully sleep with us in our bed) our dogs free roam our house and gardens during the waking hours and can usally be found sleeping in a sunny spot. Which varies through the day from what was known as 'the morning room' which is on the east side of the house, to what was the former bar and lounge area (now the main living room and dining room) which is on the west side of the house during the afternoons. In the Spring and Summer if one of us is out in the gardens, they can usually be found under the shade of the willow trees, laying on the wooden deck of the covered dog run, sunning themselves in one of the many outside dog beds on the patio or enjoying the dog pool. Bascially they are content to be where we are. Our pups are born and raised in our main family living room in the heart of our home, but equally get to free roam the house and gardens (from around six weeks of age until they leave us) with the others once they are considered old enough to be part of the gang.
We are also very lucky to have some amazing accessible 'walks' in our area, which take us thorugh some of the most stunning countryside in the Linocolnshire Fens, this also includes woodland run by the Boston Woods Trust which is free and open year round for everyone to enjoy. If we feel we want to venture a littel further a feild we have accessible dog friendly beaches and coastal areas that we can easily visit. We also really enjoy meeting up with friends regualry at Coffee Paws which is near by at Langrick Brdige and welcomes well behaved dogs and their owners.
